Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dockworker responsible for loading and unloading freight using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand. You will strap and pad freight to prevent damage, and accurately record freight condition on arrival at the service center.

You will perform pre- and post-shift inspections of dock equipment, maintain regular attendance, and be prepared to work overtime as needed. A forklift certification is preferred and a GED or high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior operation of a forklift or forklift certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight on arrival at service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance; overtime may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned as needed.
