Job summary

Estes Express in Reno is seeking a dock/warehouse worker to load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck. You will strap and pad freight to prevent damage and accurately log freight conditions on arrival at the service center.

You must pass pre-shift and post-shift inspections, be able to lift about 70 lbs, and work all shifts including overtime and weekends. Interpersonal skills and reliability are essential in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred
• Stable employment history preferred
• Prior operation of a forklift or forklift certification preferred
• Must be able to push/pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting, twisting, turning, etc.
• Must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends; dependable
• Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs., or more as required
• Must comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
• Must interact well with others
• Must be able to work independently or in a team
• Must work under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
• Must read and interpret safety rules, procedures, and manuals with high concentration
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand
• Strap, brace, and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting
• Record condition of freight on arrival at the service center
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment
• Maintain regular attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned as needed
