Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to efficiently load and unload freight and to support warehouse operations. The role emphasizes safety, proper securing of cargo, and adherence to DOT guidelines while working with forklifts, manual techniques, and yard management systems.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read labels, follow procedures, and operate in a fast-paced, team-driven environment across service centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Familiarity with freight movement forms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift or manually in compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Use various loading techniques such as loading tight or cross loading.
• Transport self and/or freight throughout the service center.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and forms used in freight movement.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and other appropriate tools.
