Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to load and unload freight, secure cargo, and ensure on-time deliveries at our Texas service center.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and accuracy in handling goods across trailers and docks. The candidate will operate forklifts and handheld devices, follow DOT guidelines, and collaborate with service center staff to maintain high-quality loading and shipment tracking.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Must have working knowledge of freight transportation procedures.
• Must be able to operate a handheld tablet when needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually.
• Use loading techniques such as tight or cross loading.
• Transport self and freight across service center on various surfaces.
• Monitor shipment locations with the yard management system.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and freight documents.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Ensure quality loading of all trailers.
• Perform duties to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
