The role emphasizes accurate handling, following DOT guidelines, and using forklifts and pallet jacks to move goods within the service center. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and practical knowledge of freight loading procedures, with attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Must have working knowledge of freight transportation procedures.
• Able to use various loading techniques such as loading tight and cross loading.
• Familiarity with shipping documents and freight forms (bills of lading, manifests, etc.).
• Ability to monitor shipment locations using dock yard management systems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack, or manual methods per DOT guidelines.
• Apply proper loading techniques to secure freight and prevent damage.
• Transport personnel and freight within the service center on varied surfaces.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and related freight documents.
• Utilize dock yard management system to track shipment locations.
• Ensure quality loading of all trailers and secure freight inside trailers.
