Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Must know loading techniques such as loading tight and cross loading.
• Familiarity with shipping documents and freight forms.
• Ability to monitor shipment locations using yard management systems.
• Must be available to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
• Ability to operate handheld tablets when needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Transport freight within the service center on various surfaces.
• Monitor freight shipment locations using the yard management system.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and freight forms.
• Hand-load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
• Ensure quality loading of all trailers.
• Secure freight inside trailers with straps, airbags, or wrap.
• Maintain clear communication with service center personnel to meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
