Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line seeks a dedicated Dockworker to support loading and unloading freight and to maintain safe warehouse operations. The role requires a strong safety ethic, attention to detail, and teamwork to help ensure on-time deliveries and uphold the OD family culture.

You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, read shipping labels, and follow DOT guidelines. This is a physically demanding role with shifts and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or equivalent.
• Must have working knowledge of safe lifting and transporting procedures.
• Familiarity with freight forms (shipping orders, manifests, bills, reports).
• Ability to monitor shipment locations using dock yard management systems.
• Must be available for varying shifts to meet schedules.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload freight on trailers using forklift, pallet jack, or manually.
• Transport personnel and freight throughout the service center.
• Read shipping labels and complete freight movement forms.
• Secure freight and ensure quality loading of trailers.
• Maintain safety and comply with DOT guidelines.
