Job summary

Material Handling Inc Birmingham, Alabama, seeks an experienced Dock & Door Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial dock and door equipment at customer locations. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and communicate clearly with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Three-plus years in related field, strong diagnostic ability, and a valid driver’s license are required; manufacturer training is a plus.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience servicing dock and door equipment or related field.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
Able to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial dock and door equipment at customer locations.
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and recommend repairs as needed.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Repair and service dock levelers, overhead doors, high-speed doors, vehicle restraints, seals, shelters.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs and recommendations.
Document service work accurately and completely.
Maintain and manage service tools, equipment, and company vehicle.
Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times.
Work independently while coordinating with the service team as needed.
