Job description

Rowing Dock is the premier paddling destination on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas. We offer kayak, canoe, and stand up paddleboard rentals in addition to regular weekly guided tours and water-based activities for groups. Our team is the heart of our operation, and the reason customers call the dock their favorite place in Austin. The Role:

The Dock Attendant is the face of Rowing Dock. You are responsible for assisting customers and answering questions about the dock. You take pride in keeping our dock nice, neat, and organized, as well as taking care of the equipment. As a Dock Attendant, you will learn how to properly pair customers with appropriate boats per their body type and skill set, how to help customers in and out of boats, how to teach customers paddling basics, and most importantly, how to have a good time while doing all of the above!

1. You appreciate an incredible customer service experience and will work hard to make it a reality.
2. You are a talker and you like being social, friendly, and engaging with people.
3. You are comfortable working outside in the heat (this is Texas, y'all! Our summers are HOT).
4. You are into staying fit and healthy.
5. You are always up for a good time but you are also responsible and professional (tardiness and absenteeism are NOT tolerated).
6. You are available on weekends and holidays.
7. You are over the age of 18 and have reliable transportation to/from work.
8. You can commit to working at Rowing Dock for six months or longer. We are looking for dedicated members to join our team. If you are looking for stop-gap employment, please do not apply.

Pay

We provide paid training including First Aid/CPR certifications.

Hourly Wages:

• $19/Hour for Dock Attendants
• $20/Hour if promoted to a leadership role

We also offer FREE rentals for staff, their family, and friends!

Shifts:

Dock Attendants work between 2 and 5 shifts a week. This is a part-time job; please do not apply if you expect full-time hours.

Shifts are 4-6 hours in length.
