Responsibilities include processing motor vehicle transactions, ensuring compliance, collecting payments, and assisting customers in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Trainee status offered with hourly pay of $17.19 per hour.
• Must meet minimum qualifications within one year of hire date.
• Background checks required including motor vehicle record and fingerprint-based checks.
• Valid driver’s license or access to transportation for statewide travel.
• May require a flexible schedule including early morning, evenings, and/or weekends; statewide travel may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and process a variety of motor vehicle applications; ensure forms are completed and data entered within timelines.
• Determine correct fines/fees and taxes; collect payments and manage a cash drawer and daily deposits.
• Inspect documents for accuracy and compliance; use verification systems to confirm document authenticity.
• Assist high-volume customer counter; provide clear guidance and de-escalate as needed.
• Administer tests and issue vehicle materials such as plates and permits; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Support supervisor and DMV staff; may assist with mentoring and training.

Education

Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after completion of high school
