Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Boston, MA, seeks a DMS Database Engineer to partner with software engineers and field engineers to streamline migrations, diagnose replication failures, and guide customers through production incidents across heterogeneous databases.

You will work with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and DB2, build automation, and document findings to empower support teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math.
• 4+ years of experience with relational databases.
• Experience with scripting languages (shell, Python, Perl).
• Strong analytical skills and communication abilities.
• Experience on Linux/RHEL environments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve production issues across multiple DB engines.
• Investigate performance, replication lag, CDC failures, and schema migrations.
• Build automation, logs, and diagnostic scripts to speed troubleshooting.
• Guide customers through migration and replication challenges.
• Collaborate with SDEs by reviewing code in DMS replication engine.
