Job summary

Consulate Health Care in Virginia Beach is seeking an Ambassador Ancillary Services (DME) Customer Service Representative to support the ordering of DME supplies for nursing home residents. You will work within our team to ensure accurate billing, documentation, and adherence to Medicare guidelines.

Responsibilities include inventory management, processing orders, and maintaining patient records while upholding Consulate’s core values of compassion, integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Secondary Education Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience with insurance billing, Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.
• Experience with DME products: Enteral Nutrition, Urological, Ostomy, Tracheostomy and Wound Care supplies.
• Ability to read physician orders.
• Excellent interpersonal, coordinating, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Order DME products for facility residents.
• Manage inventory levels.
• Read and understand medical terminology.
• Create and maintain patient records in accordance with policies.
• Validate payor sources (Medicare B, secondary insurance, facility).
• Provide billing documentation within established timeframes.
• Maintain communication with facilities and DME staff.
• Follow safety and documentation procedures.
• Support training where appropriate.
