Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience with DME.
• Associate degree or equivalent in training and experience.
• Knowledge of reimbursement guidelines, medical terminology, and DME billing codes.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn EMR software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Fit patients with prescribed medical equipment, including evaluation, modification, fitting and training.
• Enter data into EMR to ensure proper dispensing of equipment.
• Coordinate precert for equipment to obtain proper authorization as required by insurance.
• Educate patients on insurance plans and patient financial responsibilities.
• Occasional driving to off-site facilities to deliver equipment.
• Support clinic staff and maintain cleanliness and efficient workflow.
• Maintain inventory of all DME products and post charges.
• Order and receive inventory in Inventory Management software.
• Other duties as assigned.
