Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• 1+ years in durable medical equipment preferred.
• 1+ years in healthcare preferred.
• Athletic training or Orthopedic Technician experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of DME assessment and usage.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Inventory management experience.
• Basic troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Capable of traveling between locations on short notice.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for DME.

Responsibilities

• Obtain measurements and fit DME per provider orders.
• Educate patients, caregivers and staff on safe use and care.
• Coordinate fitting/pick-up appointments for DME.
• Obtain and document payor pre-certifications/authorizations.
• Develop knowledge of DME products and insurance guidelines.
• Collect patient payments and explain financial responsibilities.
• Review orders for medical necessity/appropriateness.
• Assist in resolving patient equipment problems.
• Maintain detailed EHR documentation of communications.
• Coordinate with other departments as needed.
• Maintain inventory par levels and stock DME at locations.
• Coordinate DME inventory orders with vendors and receivers.
• Notify DME Lead of issues requiring escalation.
• Attend required clinic meetings and participate in development.
