Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of computer functions and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Detail oriented with excellent documentation skills and ability to follow through to the end.
• Basic knowledge of the medical field; prior experience in home medical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate ordering and delivery of durable medical equipment (DME) products, supplies and services.
• Ensure patient information is processed timely and accurately to optimize revenue.
• Receive inquiries and orders in person, by telephone, fax, and email; gather necessary documentation.
• Obtain any needed prior authorizations for services according to payer policy.
• Educate patients on insurance plans, provisions, financial responsibility, and patient portion.
• Assist patients with product selection and fitting; provide patient education on use and care.
• Balance cash drawer and prepare deposits; maintain a clean, stocked store.
• May be required to work after store hours in an on-call capacity.
