Eaton’s Electrical sector, Commercial Products and Assemblies (CPA) division seeks a Divisional Switchboard Chief Engineer for Panelboard & Switchboards. This role may be remote within the US, but is preferred to be located at Sumter, SC; El Paso, TX; Morrisville, NC; or Smyrna, GA. Relocation is available to Sumter SC only.

Travel will be expected between 10-25%. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Chief Engineer serves as the technical SME for the product line, defining strategic

Qualifications

• 10–15 years minimum product design experience in power distribution equipment conforming to UL standards (UL50, UL67, UL 891)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Enovia
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
• Eaton will not sponsor CPT/OPT/STEM OPT or other visa processes for this position

Responsibilities

• Act as the highest-level technical expert for the product line and define strategic direction
• Mentor team members and drive innovation for next-gen products
• Oversee UL/CSA file maintenance and ensure compliance with standards
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive projects to completion
• Review designs and product standards; ensure safe testing and adherence to safety rules
