Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Divisional Switchboard Chief Engineer for Panelboard & Switchboards within its CPA division. The role may be remote within the US, with preferred locations in Sumter, SC; El Paso, TX; Morrisville, NC; or Smyrna, GA.

Travel and relocation options are available to Sumter as needed. The chief engineer defines strategic direction, mentors teams, and collaborates with cross-functional partners to deliver innovative products while ensuring regulatory compliance and budgeting

Qualifications

• 10–15 years’ product design experience in power distribution equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Enovia.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• US work authorization (no CPT/OPT/STEM OPT visa sponsorship)

Responsibilities

• Define strategic direction for the product line across the CPA group.
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and on-time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, CSA standards and maintain regulatory files.
• Mentor engineers and drive next-generation product concepts.
