Job summary

Hooper Deforest seeks an experienced Safety Leader to advance the division's safety vision across projects and fleets. You will drive incident-prevention strategies, integrate energy-based safety, and partner with project teams to ensure non-punitive learning and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include leading safety programs, overseeing audits, and guiding compliance with OSHA and other regulations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in utility safety with leadership in safety programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Professional safety certifications preferred (e.g., CSP, CHST, OHST).
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop incident-prevention strategies and safety systems.
• Guide Energy-Based Safety concepts across projects and operations.
• Collaborate with project teams and Safety Managers to enforce controls.
• Conduct field observations, audits, and investigations for compliance.
• Investigate incidents using energy-based causal analysis and support claims.
