Board of Certified Safety Professionals is seeking a Safety Manager to lead a comprehensive safety program across our distribution operations. You will develop safety initiatives, coach leaders, analyze risk trends, and ensure DOT, FMCSA, OSHA compliance while managing environmental, fleet safety, and health programs.

• Accident Prevention and Safety Leadership: lead the accident prevention strategy and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with Transportation and Operations leaders to determine root causes and accountability for incidents.
• Analyze near-misses, driver behaviors, and facility incidents to prevent future accidents.
• Conduct ride-alongs, yard observations, and safety walks with frontline supervisors to reinforce safe behaviors.
• Lead DOT and FMCSA compliance activities, including driver qualification files, hours of service, CSA scores, and vehicle inspections.
• Coach CDL drivers on safe driving, defensive driving, and regulatory compliance.
• Investigate vehicle accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage post-accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing programs.
• Analyze telematics and accident data to identify trends and reduce risk.
• Oversee OSHA compliance across the OpCo, including powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, fall protection and material handling.
• Conduct safety audits, job hazard analyses, and facility inspections.
• Support safe food distribution practices, including cold-chain safety and dock safety.
• Lead Worker’s Compensation program from injury reporting to claim closure and manage investigations.
• Partner with HR, Operations, medical providers, and third-party admins to control costs and improve outcomes.
• Lead return-to-work and temporary modified duties programs to minimize time loss.
• Track safety KPIs (TRIR, DART, CSA scores) to identify high-risk areas.
• Develop and update safety policies, procedures, and emergency plans.
• Lead safety committees and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Support litigation by providing documentation and expert testimony when required.
• Design and deliver engaging safety training for drivers, selectors, sales team, supervisors and leaders.
• Lead new-hire safety orientation for drivers and warehouse associates.
• Coach leaders to own safety accountability within their teams.
• Foster a proactive safety culture where employees are encouraged to report hazards.
