Job summary

The City of Hayward is seeking a Code Enforcement Manager to direct the Code Enforcement Division, overseeing housing, health, zoning and blight abatement programs. Qualifications

• Experience in community preservation, rental housing inspections, or code enforcement.
• Supervisory experience and ability to lead professional staff.
• Knowledge of budget preparation and administrative practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate code enforcement programs.
• Develop and administer the division budget; plan staffing and expenses.
• Coordinate with City departments and outside agencies on projects.
• Prepare staff reports, presentations, and policy recommendations.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff and volunteers; ensure service delivery.
