Job summary

The City of Fremont's Community Development Department is seeking a Code Enforcement Manager to lead the Community Preservation Section and oversee code enforcement for land, structures, and safety.

The manager will supervise staff, develop training, coordinate with other departments and agencies, and engage with residents and businesses to address neighborhood concerns. This exempt, on-site role may require evening hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, planning, public policy, urban studies or related field.
• Five years progressively responsible experience; two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Code enforcement experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the Code Enforcement section.
• Supervises subordinate staff and conducts field investigations; issues citations and follows through to resolution.
• Develops staff training programs and administrative procedures.
• Interacts with community, business partners, and other agencies to resolve issues.
• Participates in budget development and coordination with other department operations.
