Job summary

PulteGroup, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accounting Professional to support the Controller in directing the Accounting Department.

You will oversee accounts payable, payroll, job cost, and general ledger activities, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls. You will assist in departmental budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial forecast preparation, coordinating with auditors and finance teams to deliver accurate, timely reports and tax returns.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with GAAP, cash flows, and annual reports.
  • Strong analytical skills and organizational ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage long-term projects.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the Accounting Department to include Accounts Payable, Subcontractor Payables, Payroll, Housing Receivables, job cost and general ledger accounting to ensure adherence with GAAP and company policies.
  • Assist the Controller in preparing annual departmental operating budgets and cash flow budgets.
  • Assist the Controller in preparing financial forecasts of revenue and profit with budget vs. actuals analysis.
  • Assist in meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for internal and external users.
  • Oversee preparation of Personal Property, Sales and Use, and Real Estate Tax returns.
  • Design and implement procedures to ensure compliance with corporate policies and respond to audit findings.

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the Controller in directing the activities of the Accounting Department, including direct responsibility for the financial and cost accounting functions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the Accounting Department to include Accounts Payable, Subcontractor Payables, Payroll, Housing Receivables, job cost and general ledger accounting to ensure adherence with generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls and company policies and procedures
  • Assist the Controller in preparing the annual Departmental Operating Budgets, Housing Budget, Capital Asset Budget, Land Development Budget and Cash Flow Budget
  • Assist the Controller in preparing financial forecasts of projected revenue and profit in conjunction with financial analysis of budget vs. actual operating results
  • Assist the Controller in meeting all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements of internal and external users
  • Assist the Controller in directing and overseeing the preparation of Personal Property, Sales and Use, and Real Estate Tax returns.
  • Assist the Controller in designing, implementing and supporting procedures that will assure compliance with corporate policies
  • Work with and provide financial information to internal and external auditors and respond to the audit reports, as required
  • Approve expenditures and invoices within established company guidelines
  • Works with department managers to ensure consistent application of general ledger accounting and cost coding

  • Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent
  • Delegates work according to employee’s abilities and skills
  • Evaluates employee’s performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance

Required Education
