Job summary

PulteGroup Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Division Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller and lead the accounting function for the division. You’ll oversee AP, payroll, receivables, job cost and general ledger, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

You will help prepare budgets, forecasts, and reports for leadership, coordinate audits, and support tax compliance while guiding staff and improving processes in a dynamic homebuilding environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent is required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cash flows, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the Accounting Department including AP, Subcontractor Payables, Payroll, Housing Receivables, job cost and general ledger accounting.
  • Assist in preparing annual Departmental Operating Budgets, Housing Budget, Capital Asset Budget, Land Development Budget and Cash Flow Budget.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and analysis of budget vs. actual results.
  • Assist in meeting monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for internal and external users.
  • Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit reports; oversee tax returns and compliance.
  • Approve expenditures and invoices within company guidelines; ensure consistent GL accounting and cost coding.
