Job summary

Fayette County Public Schools at Cassidy Elementary in Lexington, KY is seeking a Districtwide Special Education Paraeducator for a 1.0 FTE, hourly position. You will assist certified teachers, support students with disabilities, and help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

The role requires at least 48 college credits or Kentucky Paraeducator assessment or an associate degree, experience with youth, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with health-related tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credit hours or completion of Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or an Associate's Degree
• Experience working with youth in organized settings and some instructional experience with children with special needs
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with health-related procedures as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers in implementing instructional practices and maintaining a safe learning environment
• Support students with health and daily living activities and maintain appropriate records
• Assist in data collection, progress monitoring and implementing behavior plans
• Perform routine clerical duties and manage classroom materials and records
• Contribute to planning and collaboration with teachers and specialists
• Present a positive, supportive presence and assist in transportation and supervision tasks
