Job summary

Fayette County Public Schools is seeking a Districtwide Special Education Paraeducator for Harrison Elementary in Lexington, Kentucky. This role supports certified teachers, helps maintain a safe classroom, and assists with health-related needs of students with special needs.

The paraeducator will maintain records, follow IEPs, and contribute to a collaborative instructional environment under professional supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credit hours or completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or an Associate's Degree.
• Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience with children with special needs.
• Willingness to work with diverse student populations and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers in implementing instructional practices and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Implement health-related procedures and assist with student care as required.
• Maintain student records and confidentiality in accordance with laws and district policies.
• Support teachers with data collection, classroom materials, and clerical tasks.
• Assist in planning and implementing IEPs and behavior plans under supervision.
