Job summary

Fayette County Public Schools is seeking a Districtwide Special Education Paraeducator to support Leestown Middle School in Lexington, KY. The role is 1.0 FTE, hourly, with responsibilities across instructional support, health-related procedures, data reporting, and classroom assistance under a teacher's guidance.

The ideal candidate has at least 48 college credits or Kentucky Paraeducator assessment, experience with students with disabilities, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credits or successful completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or completion of an Associate's Degree.
• Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience in a classroom environment with children and parents with special needs.
• Basic knowledge of district policies and procedures and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing instructional practices and maintaining a supportive classroom environment.
• Support students with health-related procedures as needed and maintain appropriate records.
• Assist in monitoring student progress in academics, behavior, and social development.
• Perform routine clerical duties and help prepare instructional materials.
