Job summary

Fayette County Public Schools is hiring a Districtwide Special Education Paraeducator serving Rosa Parks Elementary School in Lexington, KY. The role supports certified teachers, assists with health-related procedures, and helps create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

The paraeducator will work with students who have special needs, follow IEPs, and participate in professional development. The position is full-time with a 183-day calendar and opportunities for collaboration with school

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credit hours or completion of Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or an Associate's Degree.
• Experience working with youth in organized settings and some instructional experience with children and parents with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing instructional practices and maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Assist teachers in carrying out health-related procedures and maintain appropriate records.
• Maintain student data, attendance, and progress records as directed.
• Support teachers with learning strategies and behavior plans under supervision.
• Assist in classroom setup, materials preparation, and use of instructional equipment.
• Support students during transitions and non-academic activities such as lunchrooms and buses.
