Univar Solutions in Houston, TX seeks a District Transportation Manager to lead the private fleet strategy and carrier relationships. You will drive route optimization, capacity planning, and cost management to meet the company’s transportation targets across multiple locations.

Role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and expertise in multi-modal transportation, DOT regulations, and SAP systems.

Qualifications

• College degree and 3-5 years of logistics/supply-chain experience.
• Experience in HAZMAT and tanker transportation operations.
• Multi-modal Transportation including TL and LTL; regulatory and operational issues.
• Leading private fleets with demonstrated efficiency.
• Budgeting (P&L) experience.
• In-depth SAP and SAPTM knowledge.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel 25-50%.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an efficient, cost-advantaged private fleet across locations.
• Develop and lead route plans to reduce regional CPM.
• Negotiate truckload rates with common carriers.
• Manage lane sourcing strategy between Private, Common, and dedicated fleets.
• Ensure on-time delivery performance; supervise carrier relationships.
• Define near-, short-, and long-term capacity requirements for the district.
• Oversee asset utilization and capital replacement strategies.
• Manage transportation budget and deliver the Annual Operating Plan.
• Collaborate with operations, commercial leaders, and procurement.
