Job Description

Optimus seeks a dynamic, organized, customer-focused full-cycle District Sales Manager to help us reach our bold growth goals assisting fleets in reducing their carbon emissions and achieving environmental sustainability milestones. This role will be one of the company's primary ambassadors to new potential commercial truck fleets and to guiding our existing clients into a repeat buying cycle.

This is a full-time remote position, preferably based in an area with convenient travel options, with travel requirements of up to 50%. Optimus is a fast-growing technology company; all employees must be self-directed and capable of managing multiple duties within the company. You will generate opportunities with new customers, forecast sales activity, and achieve revenue targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • A proven hunter with experience working with large commercial vehicle fleets; as a Tier one supplier or an OEM
  • Become an expert on the Vector System, its benefits and applications, and the larger biodiesel market
  • Ability to explain and present complex, technical concepts clearly and creatively
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting TCO concepts
  • Establish and maintain relationships with fleet managers, sustainability managers, and shippers to facilitate the entire sales cycle
  • Manage a long educational sales cycle, cultivating meaningful and lasting client relationships
  • Develop an action plan with your manager to achieve quarterly company OKRs; maintain other sales metrics
  • Work with the customer success team to onboard new customers effectively
  • Navigate complex enterprise structures to achieve stakeholder alignment
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with internal resources
  • Accurately report sales activity and forecasts to senior management
  • Identify and communicate market trends and product feedback
  • Use CRM tools for account management

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in sales or business development handling complex long-lead sales cycles
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in fleet trucking and/or aftermarket parts sales
  • Proven success in leading complex sales processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to learn quickly and immerse in alternative energy and diesel vehicle markets
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ownership mindset and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and creativity skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically (50% or more)
  • Experience in transportation or fuel markets is a plus
  • Pride in work quality and customer satisfaction
