Job summary

The Children’s Place in Secaucus, NJ is seeking an Area Leader to oversee multiple stores in a market, driving sales growth, profitability, and customer experience. This role coaches Store Leaders, enforces brand standards, and partners with senior leadership to scale best practices across the district.

You will lead a team of Store Leaders, monitor performance, and build a culture of accountability and high performance, traveling as needed to support stores and strengthen the district’s results.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail management experience, leading a store or multiple stores.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L.
• Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
• Ability to analyze business results and make data‑driven decisions.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.
• Flexibility to work a schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Financial Accountability: Own accountability for area sales, profit, and operational targets; analyze performance and market trends.
• Customer Experience & Service Standards: Ensure stores deliver world-class customer experiences reflecting brand values.
• Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, lead, develop and manage Store Leaders/Managers; provide ongoing feedback and development.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure flawless execution of operational, merchandising, and visual standards; oversee safety and loss prevention.
• Performance Metrics: Drive area sales growth through KPIs, maintain store performance, lead talent development and retention; spend 75% in stores and 25% in office/meetings.
