Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic payroll accounting procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.
• Proficiency with software to create spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing.
• Proficiency in keyboarding and file maintenance.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Three years payroll accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate district payroll for distribution to employees.
• Receive and audit time sheets; calculate wages, hours worked, withholdings, deductions and net pay.
• Balance payroll earnings and deductions; initiate related transfers of funds and deposits.
• Maintain district payroll registers and employee payroll information.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports to IRS, Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Retirement System, FICA, Medicare, and other agencies.
• Collaborate with HR, principals and staff to ensure data accuracy.
• Respond to verification requests from financial institutions.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow safety protocols.
