Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a District Manager to lead at least 15 store teams across the assigned area in the United States. You will drive store profitability, uphold customer service, and ensure safety and compliance across merchandising and operations.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to coach store managers, and a customer-first mindset. Expect travel up to 50% across the district, with a focus on delivering short- and long-term business objectives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• 5+ years retail experience with at least 2 years of multi-store leadership.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills with ability to build an effective team.
• Ability to analyze, organize and present information with focus on results.
• Strong business acumen and communication skills.
• HR and asset protection experience.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Process management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Drive the success and profitability of stores while ensuring outstanding customer service and a safe, compliant work environment.
• Oversee the execution of merchandising, operations, and expense control programs.
• Lead, coach, and mentor store managers to meet and exceed business objectives.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
• Source, recruit, hire, and develop store managers within the district to build a high-performing team.
• Drive sales, profitability, and expense management to meet company goals and develop short- and long-term objectives.
• Implement established processes and programs, ensuring operational consistency across the district.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance, conducting regular audits as needed.
• Manage operational budgets and optimize store performance.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Champion a customer-first mindset across the district, maintaining high standards.
• Travel up to 50% of the time with possible overnight stays to support district operations across stores.
