Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking a District Manager in Training to oversee a micro-district while participating in a comprehensive training program. The program prepares you for the next available District Manager position, with relocation to a company location as needed.

Successful completion demonstrates leadership across stores, effective staffing, and adherence to company standards while driving sales and profitability. This is a full-time role requiring relocation upon program completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and/or 2–5 years self-storage or retail management experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform all essential job functions at the Store Manager and/or District Trainer level.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboratively and promote SmartStop culture across stores within the district.
• Assist staffing and scheduling to maintain optimal coverage and service levels.
• Provide leadership, feedback, coaching, and accountability to staff.
• Recruit, interview, and hire store management candidates in coordination with Regional Manager.
• Maintain regular communication with District Manager and regional/corporate offices.
