Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking a Bench District Manager in Training to oversee a micro-district and participate in a comprehensive program preparing for the next District Manager role.

Successful completion requires strong leadership, sales focus, and adherence to company standards. Position involves relocation to Dallas, Denver, or the Phoenix area as openings arise, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is required or 2–5 years self-storage/retail management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Embodies SmartStop culture and leads collaboratively to improve customer and team experience.
• Develops understanding of policies, procedures, and standards across the district.
• Supports district performance by achieving sales and profitability goals.
• Assists in staffing and scheduling for stores within the district.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and accountability to staff.
• Ensures initiatives and standards are implemented across locations.
• Recruits and mentors store management candidates.
• Promotes training and development of district staff.
• Maintains security and asset protection through audits and checks.
• Communicates with District Manager and leadership to align goals.
• Relocates to open District Manager positions as needed.
