Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking a Bench District Manager in training to oversee a micro-district while participating in a comprehensive training program for the next District Manager role. Successful completion leads to relocation to an open District Manager position as determined by needs and discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
• 2–5 years self-storage or retail management experience.
• Willingness to relocate and travel up to 35%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote SmartStop culture through collaborative leadership and change management.
• Understand and enforce all SmartStop policies, procedures and standards.
• Support district performance by achieving sales and profitability goals and ensuring operational excellence of home stores.
• Assist in staffing and scheduling to maintain optimal coverage and service levels.
• Provide coaching, feedback and accountability to staff in alignment with company practices.
• Ensure initiatives and standards are implemented consistently across locations.
• Recruit, interview and hire store management in coordination with Regional Manager.
• Mentor staff to build a strong, capable district team.
• Protect assets through regular store audits and security/compliance checks.
• Maintain open communication with District Manager, Regional leadership and corporate offices.
• Be prepared to relocate to any open District Manager position after training.
