Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking a Bench District Manager in Training to join our operations team. You will oversee a micro-district while completing a comprehensive training program to prepare for the next District Manager position.

Successful completion will lead to relocation to an open District Manager role based on organizational needs. The role emphasizes leadership, policy mastery, staff development, and achieving district sales and profitability targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent.
• 2–5 years self-storage or retail management experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong time management and deadline-driven.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboratively and promote SmartStop culture.
• Understand and apply all SmartStop policies and standards.
• Support district performance by achieving sales and profitability goals.
• Assist in staffing and scheduling for stores within the district.
• Provide leadership, feedback, and accountability to staff.
• Ensure initiatives and standards are implemented consistently across locations.
• Recruit, interview, and hire store management candidates.
• Mentor and develop staff within the district.
• Protect company assets through audits and compliance checks.
• Maintain communication with District Manager and regional/corporate teams.
• Relocate to open District Manager roles as needed after training.
