Job summary

Journeys, a Genesco brand, is seeking a District Manager in Training to support supervising multiple store locations in a defined district. You will help drive sales, coach store teams, and ensure operational standards align with company policies.

The role requires 1-2 years of retail experience, strong customer service skills, and willingness to travel. You’ll join a fast-paced environment with growth potential and extensive in-district responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years retail sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the district.
• Proven ability to increase sales and profitability.
• Proven ability to recruit, train, and develop high-caliber teams.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Completion of all training programs leading up to District Manager in Training or equivalent.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist District Sales Manager in supervising retail store locations within the district.
• Achieve district sales goals and profitability targets.
• Support DSM in evaluating staff and developing action plans.
• Assist in staffing stores within the district.
• Assist in Loss Prevention practices within the district.
• Direct store operations and enforce company policies.
• Recruit, interview, and hire store management candidates.
• Train and promote store employees within the district.
• Conduct regular store visits and communicate with district and corporate staff.
