Job summary

Journeys, a Genesco brand, is seeking a District Sales Manager in Training to oversee retail locations within a defined district. You will support the DSM in sales strategies, staff development, and operational excellence across stores in the district.

The role requires 1–2 years retail experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to travel. Local candidates in Buford, GA area preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel extensively within district.
• Ability to recruit, train, and develop high-caliber teams.
• Completion of training leading to District Manager in Training or equivalent.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Achieve district sales goals and profitability targets while maintaining home store performance.
• Support the DSM in evaluating people, performance, and developing action plans to improve sales.
• Assist in staffing stores within the district.
• Assist in managing Loss Prevention practices within the district.
• Direct store operations and coach employees according to policies.
• Recruit, interview, and hire store management candidates per instructions.
• Train, develop, and promote store employees within the district.
• Regular store visits as per Regional/DSM instructions.
• Maintain communication with District Manager, Regional, and corporate staff.
• Travel extensively within district.
