Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a Facility Maintenance leader to manage maintenance personnel and programs across a district. You will drive preventive and corrective maintenance, manage vendors, and oversee cost control, scheduling, and asset readiness to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires strong leadership, vendor management, and knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). Travel within the district is common, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with two years in building maintenance.
• Two years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience managing maintenance vendors and contracts.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and dock equipment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and maintenance management systems.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Facility Maintenance Technicians (FMTs) and foster safety.
• Oversee district maintenance operations and work orders.
• Monitor metrics like aging, response times, backlog, and service quality.
• Partner with Operations to prioritize maintenance needs and support operations.
• Manage vendor performance and cost-efficiency initiatives.
• Control maintenance spends and optimize resources and vendor management.
• Coordinate daily operations: workload prioritization, scheduling, and project execution.
• Oversee payroll, timekeeping, work orders, reporting, inventory, and system compliance.
• Facilitate team communication to review performance and reinforce safety.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies; perform other duties as assigned.
