Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance activities across an assigned district.

You will oversee technicians, drive preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and ensure safe, compliant facilities aligned with operational excellence. The role focuses on workforce development, cost management, and performance optimization, with travel within the district and duties spanning payroll, inventory, and reporting to support uninterrupted logistics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 2 years in building maintenance.
• 2 years leadership, supervisory, team lead, or management experience preferred.
• Experience managing maintenance vendors, service contracts, and facility-related projects preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, doors, dock equipment, and general facility infrastructure preferred.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and employee development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Facility Maintenance Technicians (FMTs), fostering safety and continuous improvement.
• Oversee district maintenance operations, ensuring timely work orders and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor performance metrics like work order aging, response times, backlog, and service quality.
• Partner with Operations leadership to prioritize maintenance needs and support uninterrupted operations.
• Manage vendor performance and relationships to ensure service standards and cost efficiency.
• Control maintenance spends through cost analysis, resource optimization, and vendor management.
• Coordinate daily operations, schedule resources, and execute projects.
• Oversee payroll, timekeeping, work orders, reporting, inventory, and system compliance.
• Facilitate team communication to review performance and reinforce safety.
