Essex County District Attorney’s Office is seeking a District Court Paralegal to support Assistant District Attorneys, investigators, and state police from investigation through trial. Qualifications

• Associate’s or higher degree in paralegal studies or related field.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use various software programs.
• Experience with legal terminology and principles.
• Independent worker who can also collaborate on a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in case preparation for pretrial and trial, both in and outside the courtroom.
• Compile and analyze case documents (e.g., 911 tapes, reports, records).
• Process discovery and consult with parties, experts, and witnesses.
• Develop research trails using internal/external tools and databases.
• Manage case files and assemble trial exhibits.
• Review legal forms for accuracy and handle related duties.
