Job summary

The Queens County District Attorney's Office is seeking an experienced Paralegal for the Strategic Investigations Bureau. The TPA/Paralegal will assist prosecutors, interview witnesses, manage case files, prepare materials for Grand Jury and trial, and coordinate with law enforcement, laboratories, and related agencies.

Responsibilities include drafting subpoenas and legal documents, maintaining logs, locating witnesses, arranging travel, obtaining records and evidence, and assisting with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in criminal justice or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents and subpoenas; maintain logs and records.
• Identify, locate, contact and schedule witnesses; arrange interpreters.
• Deliver or coordinate delivery of documents across agencies; track receipts.
• Obtain evidence and documents from various sources and labs.
• Assist with travel arrangements for witnesses; coordinate with attorneys and agencies.
• Assist with filing motions and briefs, proofread documents and organize files.
• Perform clerical duties including calls, messages, scanning and filing.
