Job summary

Queens County District Attorney's Office seeks a Trial Preparation Assistant to support the Intake and Assessments Bureau. The TPA assists ADAs, drafts affidavits and subpoenas, and coordinates witness interviews across multiple agencies.

The role involves managing case files and ensuring timely delivery of documents for court proceedings. The position requires strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic legal environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in Criminal Justice, Paralegal Studies or related area or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Preference for paralegal/legal assistant experience or ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents and correspondence (e.g., affidavits, subpoenas, takeout orders, orders to produce).
• Deliver or coordinate delivery of documents to other bureaus, ADAs and agencies with confirmation of receipt.
• Obtain evidence and documentation from outside sources and electronic systems.
• Maintain knowledge of law enforcement computer applications (Case Tracking, QDocs, CACS, NYPD Booking).
• Identify, locate, contact and schedule witnesses and interpreters; prepare expense vouchers.
