Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead district-wide HR strategy, programs and staff. The CHRO will direct HR operations, oversee HRIS, benefits, staffing, licensure and reporting, and ensure alignment with Board policies.

The role reports to the Superintendent and serves on the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet, guiding employee relations, evaluations, and compliance across the district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, HR Management, or related area.
• Doctorate in education or related area preferred.
• Minimum five years' experience as building or district administrator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and supervise district-wide HR programs and staff.
• Direct and oversee HR programs and services.
• Ensure compliance with laws and board policies.
• Coordinate budgeting and fiscal management.
• Prepare annual staffing reports for DPI.
