Job summary

Breckinridge County Schools seeks a District Food Service – Substitute Cook in Hardinsburg, KY to assist in meal preparation for students under the Food Service Manager and Director. Responsibilities include following tested recipes, preparing meals, maintaining safety/cleanliness, and assisting with inventories and special events.

Excellent teamwork and punctuality are essential. Requirements: high school diploma or GED, valid Kentucky driver’s license, background checks, and school food

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Kentucky driver's license.
• Criminal background and child abuse checks required.
• Food service certification required/maintained.
• Food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares baked goods.
• Cooks meat, vegetables and other dishes; prepares salads, sandwiches, fruit, soup, sauces.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and cleans equipment.
• Prepares food according to planned menus and tested recipes; checks quality.
• Follows USDA serving size guidelines for school meals.
• Assists with inventories and proper storage of foods.
• Assists in daily kitchen cleanup and special meal functions.
• Participates in planned training programs.
