Breckinridge County Schools is seeking a District Food Service Cook for a permanent substitute role across all schools. The position covers 182 days per year (6 hours per day) with responsibilities for preparing, cooking, and serving meals in a safe, clean kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Prepares baked goods and prepares/cooks meat dishes, vegetables and other main dishes.
• Ability to prepare food according to planned menus and tested recipes, ensuring quality and appearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepares baked goods.
• Cooks meat dishes, vegetables and other main dishes; prepares salads, sandwiches, fruit, soup, sauces.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness in the kitchen; cleans equipment and utensils.
• Prepares food according to menu and recipes; checks quality before serving.
• Supports USDA meal pattern serving sizes by age group.
• Assists in maintaining inventories and proper storage of foods.
• Handles disposal of unused foods and assists in daily kitchen cleanup.
• Participates in training programs and supports nutrition goals.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by manager or food service director.
