Job summary

Muskegon Area Intermediate School District is seeking a District / Building Maintenance worker to perform a broad range of building upkeep tasks. The role includes electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, grounds care and routine repairs to ensure facilities remain safe and functional.

The incumbent will log maintenance data, respond to on-demand requests, operate vehicles for supplies, and support meetings by preparing spaces. Eligible for full benefits and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Michigan driver's license.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• At least one year of experience in building/landscape maintenance.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability in general building maintenance.
• No physical or mental restrictions that would prevent performance with reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative, general maintenance and approved repairs for all structures and equipment at assigned site(s), including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, grounds-keeping, and landscape duties.
• Assist with on-demand requests from faculty and staff as well as duties assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
• Performs a wide range of cleaning and general maintenance tasks, such as carpet and floor care, painting, minor construction, landscaping and grounds care, snow removal, vehicle operation, and minor repairs.
• Opens buildings and prepares areas for meetings or conferences.
• Understands tasks and determines proper materials and equipment needed for repairs or replacement.
• Operates MAISD vehicles to pick up/deliver supplies, equipment, interschool mail, etc.
• Data logging and maintenance tracking.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
