Job summary

North Shore School District 112 is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to maintain, inspect, and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other district systems. You will assist the Director of Operations to ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently, with a focus on preventive maintenance and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities include inspecting pumps, piping, belts, and HVAC components; performing basic carpentry and electrical work; and supporting summer maintenance

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma; experience in facility management within a public school system is recommended.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; strong collaboration with staff.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other physical plant systems.
• Assist Director of Operations in ensuring facilities operate safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical work with appropriate tools and testing devices.
• Operate maintenance equipment and support energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Move materials and coordinate maintenance projects across district facilities.
