The Department of Adult Correction, Division of Community Supervision, has an exciting opportunity for an energetic, professional Administrative Specialist I to provide fiscal, administrative, and human resources support to the Judicial District Manager and district employees, primarily Probation/Parole Officers.
The mission of Community Supervision is to protect citizens by providing viable alternatives and meaningful supervision to offenders on probation, parole, or post-release supervision. The primary goal is to balance control and treatment to positively influence offenders' behavior and lifestyle.
This position requires working under pressure to meet deadlines, handle inventory and purchasing, suspense files, and HR functions. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings, recording minutes, screening calls and visitors, preparing documents for court or official use, onboarding, and acting as the health & benefits representative. The role involves managing mail, filing documents electronically and physically, and maintaining personnel, fiscal, and operational files.

This role involves extensive public and staff contact, including occasional interaction with offenders. It is an Internal Posting open only to current NC State Government employees and RIF candidates.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with State benefits. Current State employees are encouraged to apply, with salary adjustments based on experience and internal policies.
