Job summary

Factor Search is seeking a District Account Manager to develop and maintain customer relationships, drive sales growth, and provide technical support across the assigned territory. The role emphasizes a hands-on approach and frequent travel to support customers in the chemical and wastewater treatment sectors.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in wastewater treatment sales or technical service, with strong knowledge of plant operations and experience in industrial markets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the wastewater treatment industry, with a focus on customer accounts, sales, or technical service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and plant operations.
  • Experience serving customers in industrial markets (food & beverage, mining, oil & gas, manufacturing).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for new and existing customers to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders, including plant managers and facility executives.
  • Provide on-site and virtual technical support by identifying customer challenges, developing solutions, and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Assist customers with equipment repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure the successful operation of chemical and equipment programs.
  • Analyze treatment systems and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and provide clear, written recommendations to optimize customer performance.
  • Deliver customer training on products, including proper product application, equipment operation, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Promote and support products, innovations, and technologies within assigned accounts to strengthen customer relationships and expand business opportunities.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to monitor satisfaction, address concerns, and identify additional business opportunities.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory as needed to meet with customers, provide technical support, and develop new business.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

We are recruiting for multiple candidates across different locations on behalf of a growing organization for a District Account Manager. We are seeking an experienced sales professional with a strong background in the chemical industry, wastewater treatment, or a related field.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional technical and customer support. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to travel throughout the assigned region to support both current and prospective customers.

Essential Job Functions – Sales & Service

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the wastewater treatment industry, with a strong focus on customer accounts, sales, or technical service.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and plant operations.
  • Experience supporting customers in industries such as food and beverage, mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, or other industrial markets.
  • Must reside in the North-East, South-East or Pacific North West, or be willing to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of experience selling chemical solutions, water treatment products, or related industrial services.
  • Strong technical and consultative sales skills with a proven ability to identify customer needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Approximately 50% travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, equipment, and controls, as well as reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear while performing job duties.
  • May occasionally be required to lift and/or move objects of varying weights.
  • Ability to work in and around industrial and wastewater treatment facilities as required.
